Delete your account & data
Last updated: 2026-05-06
Khatabook is a mobile ledger app developed by Snakescript. This page
explains how to permanently delete your account and any data we hold.
What gets deleted
-
Cloud backup (server-side) — the JSON snapshot of your
ledger you uploaded with "Sync now". This includes your Google account
ID, your email address, and your full ledger contents (contacts,
transactions, business name, custom categories, currency setting).
-
Local data on your phone — wiped instantly when you
tap Settings → Clear all data inside the app, or when
you uninstall Khatabook. We never had access to it.
What is retained, and for how long
-
Standard server access logs (request timestamps, IP addresses) are
kept for up to 30 days for security and operations, then rotated
out automatically. These logs do not contain your ledger contents.
-
We do not retain backups, archives, or shadow copies of your ledger
outside the live database row described above.
How to request deletion
Option 1 — instant, on your phone
- Open the Khatabook app.
- Go to Settings → Clear all data.
- Confirm. Your phone's copy of the ledger is wiped immediately.
Note: this clears the on-device copy only. If you also synced to the
cloud, follow Option 2 to remove the server-side copy.
Option 2 — cloud copy, by email
-
Send an email to
snakescripts@gmail.com
from the same Gmail address you signed in to the app
with.
- Subject:
Delete my Khatabook data
- Body:
Please delete my Khatabook cloud backup.
We will:
- Verify the request originates from the matching Google account.
- Delete your cloud snapshot within 7 days.
- Reply to confirm deletion is complete.
Data we do not collect
Nothing to delete in these categories — we never collected them:
payment info, photos or videos, location data, your phone's contact
list, browsing history, advertising IDs, device fingerprints, audio,
messages, calendar.
